The publisher Capstone Games has a short pdf on a starting deck guide for the first game for each player, as shown in this pdf: capstone-games.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Ark-Nova_Start_EN.pdf. In addition to all players starting on Map A, it would be great from a beginners perpective, as well as a tutorialist's, to have this option during table setup to help ease players into the game without worrying about what cards are best to choose at the start of the game. From my first few playthroughs, it is very difficult to know what cards are best to begin with strategy-wise, but I still enjoyed exploring the game mechanics the first time round. -

P.S. This is an unofficial variant - if you need permission to implement this, don't worry too much about this suggestion if it's too much hassle. At least no extra cards are involved in this implementation.
