Detailed description

• Please copy/paste the error message you see on your screen, if any.
I have a few hundred games under my belt now, and I just now discovered that infinite turn time changes the table to friendly mode, with no ELO changes or penalties.
I invited a friend to the site, and we occasionally played games together, and it feels unethical to have ELO changing based on playing with someone you personally know, both as far as my ranking on the site, and because my skill level is above his and it's going to rank me up and him down to play a match with me. I only figured out purely by accident that there is a friendly mode, and have been using it with him since. All of our issues playing together have since gone away, as well.
I double-checked the FAQ, and outside of a reference to it in one of the answers, I didn't find an obvious one for how to turn it on, when you should, or why it exists. It might be a good idea to make this more obvious in the table settings form, so that people that are new to the site can discover it immediately when recommending the site to their friends. -

Report history
The reason that the unlimited time setting switches to friendly mode is because it used to be available on both friendly and normal modes, and people would get stuck in games.
When I make a table for Koi-Koi, there is no drop down to choose friendly mode at all. Literally the only way that you can make it is by setting the game speed to infinite. Once you do, it now informs you for the first time that there is a friendly mode. imgur.com/a/GRYqtnc
