• Please explains what you wanted to do, what you do and what happened
It's explained in this discussion board thread: boardgamearena.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=38210 The user created a tournament with a start time one week in the future, but the tournament actually began about a day after it was created. The tournament page is boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=317871
I include below a link to a screencap, I am in North America and it shows a scheduled start time of 2024-08-25 at 20:00 in my time zone, but that's next week! So why has the tournament begun already?
Paging down through the Latest results section of the tournament page, it shows that the tournament was created "2 days ago" and the games were created 15 hours ago (e.g. boardgamearena.com/table?table=551649983 ). In other words, it seems that the tournament began at 2024-08-18 at 20:00 in my time zone, exactly 7 days before it was scheduled to begin. • What is your browser?

Possibly related bug? Two of my tournaments were automatically started (or, more accurately, ended) about 24 hours after I opened them for registration.
Is it possible that BGA is exclusively honoring the *initial* date/time set for tournaments, and not any edits? I'm pretty sure that both of my tournaments that were randomly ended weeks before they were supposed to, that I may have initially created them with the default date/time, only changing it to my intended one by using the "Edit Configuration" page.
In any case, my tournaments are randomly being deleted and I'm really frustrated right now.
boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=424271
I did a series of tests to find out where the bug was, by registering tournaments and then changing a single parameter on each one.
The only tournaments to start early were those where I changed the "Registration Starts" value from "30" as it was initially registered, to "11". These two tournaments started on either August 20th or 21st, instead of the correct date (August 31).
IMO, the bug is that if you create a tournament and open it for registration, then change "registration starts" to a value that lands between now and the start date/time, then BGA will start the tournament immediately on that date (instead of merely opening it for registration).
