This sounds like a server error, which isn't something we can control from within the game

This can happen with or without a "sync error". It's something we allow, even if it's not typically a good move.

As addressed in other responses, we don't allow undoing of actions that affect other players and the choices presented to them, including affecting global projects.
There's not a game bug here, although I welcome you to pursue server stability at the site level.
