Detailed description
-
• Please copy/paste the error message you see on your screen, if any.
Trying to even start the game
-
• Please explains what you wanted to do, what you do and what happened
Specifically, the annoying method to play any game on BGA solo (and there are not enough, please implement more), is that you have to invite a friend anyway, then expel them, then set players to 1, then Start.
But here as soon as I expel player, it quits game.
Oddly I see bug reports about solo mode for other stuff and I'm wondering how anyone else started a solo game in order to file a bug report. • What is your browser?

Because you can't have an ID on a game that won't start, so you can't open a bug on a game that won't start.
I know this is in Beta and you guys are doing a great job. Not complaining, just pointing out that this is really weird because I play several other games here solo so was surprised this didn't work.
Anyway, I think you are doing something wrong since I can start a Solo game without any problem and more than a thousand solo games of Earth have been played on BGA.
Here's how I start a solo game for Earth:
1) In the search bar on the top left, I type Earth and select the game
2) I land in the lobby
3) I make sure "Play" is selected on the left button
4) I make sure "Turn by turn" is selected on the middle button
6) I scroll down and select "Solo" as the number of player
7) The blue button above the number of player changes to "Start now in solo"
8) I click that button
9) I wait a few seconds until the timer is finished
10) I scroll to the top of the window where there is a orange icon that looks like a table with 4 people viewed from above
11) I click on that button and I am now in the game
First, there is probably something in your code that is "off" and causing an issue with the BGA lobby function.
I say this because I just used my normal approach to start It's A Wonderful World solo with no issue (as well as 70 other games).
While your method does work - and thanks for the detailed steps there - there is always another way, and there should be another way. Though I admit this may be minor to most folks.
But BGA also promotes starting a game from the Play Now screen, where it has Play, type (live or turn) AND Who (Friends or Strangers). And here is where the problem goes. Because you must pick a Friend and then expel them.
And that works - except for Earth. So then since it works for 70 other games and not Earth, logic doesn't say "it must be BGA", but instead, something is off with Earth.
Not trying to be annoying, but having 2 ways to do a thing (in this case start a game) is always good from a UX perspective. And, if something is truly "off" here, it might mean something is off elsewhere (which would be normal in a Beta).
In any event, I will start the game as you describe (I did test and works, thanks again), but thought the above might help with general debugging. Thanks again for bringing Earth to BGA!
1) I've added a friend then went to the next screen by creating a table. I expeled him. Then I changed the number of player to 1 and I could start a game.
2) From the Play now screen, I did not select a friend and I could create a table. I could select 1 player and start a game.
I don't understand why you need to select a player and then expel them since you don't need to.
If you still have a problem, you migth also want to select Standard mode before switching to 1 player since you can't play solo in begginner mode.
Works like a charm. In all games with a solo.
I figured out the problem by instead using the manual method - the game requires premium membership to start a table, and I'm not :) But there's no error message and the page doesn't say you have to be premium to start a game. It just says "Premium players can find games more easily"
I think this is an issue with the site, not the game's programming.
