Detailed description

With the barbarian infinite sacrifice and the rejuvenate ability on the coast not being limited to 'once per turn', the barbarian was able to infinitely gain energy and single-handedly secured all locations and killed the final foe in one turn.
I'm not sure if this is a situation in the physical version of the game, but it seems like an unintended abuse of ability that could be rectified by having the coast only be able to be activated once per turn. -

Is there a limit on how many times you can use "Berserk?"
Yes. You can only sacrifice 1 additional Health Point to gain 1 additional Action Point on top of the regular ability to sacrifice 1 Health for 1 extra Action. Effectively, this allows you to perform the sacrifice twice in one turn for a maximum of 2 extra Actions per turn, as opposed to the limit imposed on every other player of only one sacrifice per turn for a maximum of 1 extra Action per turn.
This is a bug.
What I do not know is: Is this FAQ answer official? I could change the behaviour of Berserk to "once per turn". But as soon as I change it, I will get new bug reports saying the ability is not working as written in the card: "you may use Sacrifice >>> multiple times <<< (as long as you have HP to pay)". That's why I hesitate to fix it.
I also tend to the solution to use the coast only once per turn. But i do not foresee this will break something else.
Changing berserk ability to be activated only once per turn is an easy fix.
Any thoughts?
How many times can I use a Region's ability?
Action abilities are limited to being used only once per turn. Passive abilities are always applicable in a Region that is not Destroyed and have no limit on use.
So, the solution to this bug would be making the coast's rejuvenate ability only once per turn.
But this rule would also apply to all other regions. For example 2AP for Forest/Enchant to reduce threat in any outer region. This could only be used once too. I for my self use it frequently more then once per turn. And it does not feel very powerfull.
When you check the Plains/Prayer ability with, it says "2AP: Draw the top card ... (once per Turn)"
I read it this way: The designer already knew an ability can be used more the once per Turn by default, so he needed to explicitly limit the usage.
So the unofficial FAQ does not add up with my thoughts on this.
New idea: I could disable the coast ability as soon as berserk is used once in a turn. This would have the same effect as not beeing able to end the turn in the capital. The player can not heal himself in this turn anymore.
This would not break anything else, because the rule is tied to the berserk ability.
start: 0HP, 4AP
heal: -2AP -> 4HP, 2AP
sacririce all HP: 0HP, 6AP
Using Berserk and Rejuvenate will give you 2 additional AP, however having 0 HP and not beeing able to secure/fight/defend is not the best choice.
Or you get just 1 additional AP while still having 1HP left.
Also this only works at the Coast region as long as you do not move to another Region.
But I forgot I am not building from source control, so this change "accidentally" made it to production.
On the bright side, this exploit is now kind of fixed.
I had not much luck contacting publisher or designer except a one liner from support once. That's why the game was in alpha state this long. I could open a new threat in BGG in hopes someone still cares for the game.
I am still open for other changes / solutions with Berserk ability. But the discussion here on BGA helped a lot.
