#65154: "Too many players are ruining Rallyman tournaments by walking away from play. "

Suggestion: in my opinion, the following would greatly improve the game implementation
Detailed description
• Please explain your suggestion precisely and concisely so that it's as easy as possible to understand what you mean.
Too many players are ruining Rallyman tournaments by walking away from play. No one wants to skip that driver because the leaders get penalized with fewer points, and the others are too polite to spoil it for the leaders – so we all wait.
To remedy this, BGA, just please escort drivers out of time off the track (as if they had engine trouble) and let play continue for the rest of us for position points.

27. Jun 2022 19:30 • I like the idea. i've seen too much abuse where somebody about to lose just stops playing. i am good with the escort idea, maybe after 12v hours?

12. Jul 2022 23:32 • This would also solve the abusive problem of people ruining games for the leaders by skipping the turn of players out of time when they are at or near last place.

1. Aug 2022 18:03 • This would be a good idea to employ for any tournament game where the number of players is not critical.

4. Sep 2022 15:41 • I agree there are players who have not played for days and should be escorted out so the rest of the game can continue. However there are also players who play every day and still run out of time due to the limited time and the timing of the other players in other time zones. I would like any rule that eliminates a player in these games to consider how long it has been since the player last took a turn, not just whether the player it out of time. If it has been, say 48 hours or more since their last turn, then good, let them go.

13. Oct 2022 11:19 • I have a solution that works for me - I do not join such tournaments where games should end within 7 days... it's impossible to do it if players are from all over the world.

I absolutely agree. There could be some formula for min durations, such as the number of players * 3 days...
There is as well a simple solution for those who feel so uncomfortable about eventual delays: Don't play tourneys with strangers and start to eliminate players who have a job or a family and therefore, sometimes unexpected high-priority events, giving them a red thumb, such as I do with all who kick players. That way, you never will see matches where they registered (outside tourneys) and can avoid, them registering on your table.
On behalf of tourney play, we could introduce that the one who kicks automatically goes for 2nd last place ==> if it's multiplayer elimination, he might have messed it up for some, but mainly for himself.
Best from Brazil

10. May 2023 16:27 • I totaly agree with the last posts. I suppose this happens to all BGA games and I narrow the problem to the fact that it takes a single player to kick someone out someone else that has no time. My proposal is to vote whether a player should be kicked or not, the way it happens in abandoning the game.

28. Jun 2023 23:33 • Nesvarbu is in "The Long Game Rallyman GT" tournament. He has not been seen in 4 months, so he just gets carried over each round making it a dead race for the other competitors - not fun.

24. Jul 2023 23:09 • The process for determining the final places after a person has been kicked or quit needs to be fixed.
Room number 392328965 is a key example.
3 players finished the game, another player ran out of time, and the top 2 players didn't get to move on in the tournament.

User Marcel Strack finished the race placed first but was the only user that did not advance due to another player being expelled.

In our game with the table number 400677633 the running order was Viko1216, me, Crazy84, ManoVelho, wenn ManoVelho decided to kick Zwenzzon. ManoVelho was the first one to leave after this, so I do not see any relation to the "result". There is even a difference between the post in the newest results section and the "official" one. So a random "logic" to determine the order in a tournament with multiple players advancing is really bad.

7. Aug 2023 11:37 • Determination of the result based on the time left is really a bad decision as you can not control whether your next turn awaits you during night time. The current score would be much fairer ...

At this table it was not time remaining as the players with second, fourth and fifth most time left reached next round!?

28. Nov 2023 3:42 • The point is that if players that run out of time get eliminated, so that the rest can continue, then games would rarely get abandoned, so then results would be based on finish order, not remaining time.

14. Aug 2024 15:15 • This also helps when players quit, let them walk away and let the players compete.
